Summary

Cypriot authorities arrested Rashad Sultanov, a British-Azerbaijani national, on allegations of spying on a military airbase for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The incident highlights Iran's continued efforts to gather intelligence on regional military infrastructure, potentially to monitor US or allied operations in the Eastern Mediterranean. While the arrest itself is a routine law enforcement action, it underscores the persistent intelligence threat posed by Iranian proxies in the region.
